Bloodborne Pathogens in First Response Environments

OSHA has developed guidelines and procedures for dealing with bloodborne pathogens in the workplace. This course prepares first responders to work safely and protect themselves from exposure to a bloodborne pathogen, such as hepatitis or HIV. Addressing the OSHA requirements and regulations, this course walks through the exposure control plan, and various methodologies to reduce exposure. The latter half of the course talks about personal protection equipment (PPE) to reduce exposure, the importance of obtaining vaccinations and accidental exposures.
