This is the fourth part in the six-part “Creating a Mindset for Change” series of training videos. All six parts are intended to be spaced sequentially, a week or two apart, to complete the program.
In the previous video, you explored constructing paved pathways on your road to success. To embrace change you start by learning to play to your strengths while surrounding yourself with team members who help smooth over your weaknesses. In this video, you learn ways to help make what you want happen.
This part of the program walks you through a set of tools to help you on your way. You will set concrete goals for your professional life in order to have something tangible to work toward. The Professional Wheel tool helps you understand your current level of effectiveness in multiple areas, including collaboration with others. Knowing where you are, and seeing where you want to go, is critical for changing your mindset.
Seventy percent of our thoughts are focused on the things we do not want. You have to actively redirect your thoughts onto the outcomes you do want, your “I want” statements. Once you complete the tools in this lesson, you are better prepared to move forward on those paved pathways to success while avoiding the undercurrent of negativity based on social conditioning. Work through the tools presented in this video to start making your “I want” statements happen for yourself and your team.
