HAZWOPER: Decontamination Procedures

This training video shows workers how decontamination, or decon, is the final step in ensuring safety following cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials. By explaining exclusion zones, contamination reduction zones and decontamination equipment, the online program shows workers how to conduct the decontamination procedures mandated by OSHA at every site where workers might be exposed to hazardous materials.

The program addresses how to conduct decontamination procedures with a thorough look at every step in an average contamination reduction corridor.

The video also offers an explanation of the necessity for medical surveillance exams following decontamination; why workers must shower after decon; and what to do in case of injury before decontamination has occurred.

After completing work with hazardous materials, decontamination processes ensure the safety precautions you have taken thus far do not go to waste. Use this training to prepare workers to follow decontamination procedures, allowing them to prevent health issues or the spread of contamination.
