Understanding OSHA's Hazard Communication Standard And The GHS - Updated with 2024 Changes

All workers have a “Right-To-Know” about the chemical hazards in their workplace. This course helps make sure workers in your organization are provided with the safety information they need and learn why it is important.

Upon explaining the hazardous chemicals information employees are entitled to have, this course presents a succinct overview of OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) and each organization’s required Hazard Communication Program. Collectively, the nine lessons in this course (The Written Plan; The Globally Harmonized System; Hazard Classification; Physical and Health Hazards; Container Labels; Pictograms; Signal Words; Hazard and Precautionary Statements; Safety Data Sheets) provide employees with an understanding of the hazards associated with chemicals in their workplace, and the appropriate precautions necessary for preventing the physical and health risks of those chemicals.

Require employees to complete this course so all employees understand OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard and learn how to work with and around chemicals safely.

OSHA published a Final Rule on May 20, 2024, to revise the Hazard Communication Standard, aligning it primarily with the 7th Revised Edition of the GHS. This course includes the 2024 updates.
