Struck-By Hazards: Construction’s Fatal Four
With over 5,000 construction worker deaths and over 150,000 construction worker injuries each year, it is imperative construction workers follow safe work practices to reduce those annual statistics.
With an overview of each of OSHA’s “Fatal Four” or “Focus Four” hazards (struck-by hazards, caught-between hazards, fall hazards, and electrocution) this course focuses on struck-by hazards. The Struck-By Hazards: Construction’s Fatal Four course starts by demonstrating the causes and sources of each of the four types of struck-by hazards: flying objects, falling objects, swinging objects, and rolling objects. Workers then learn safety tips for preventing struck-by injuries with an emphasis on personal protective equipment, safe tool use, and preventing vehicle incidents.
Use this course so your team learns to recognize, avoid, and prevent struck-by injuries caused by flying object hazards, falling object hazards, swinging object hazards, and rolling object hazards.
