Because of their origin in the Toyota Production System, Lean concepts are widely associated with manufacturing. However, as this course shows, Lean concepts are applicable to every organization, company, department, team and employee, regardless of its industry, products or services.
Considering an organization is a system with a desired purpose or intention, this course shows employees there are two types of customers: the “ultimate” customer, who is the purchaser of the product or service the company provides, and the “customer of the processes employees work in every day.” With that understanding, employees then learn Lean concepts and how they affect their role in assisting the organization in reaching Lean’s goal of aligning what the ultimate customer values and is willing to pay for with the system aiming to create that value.
Use this course to empower your team with the Lean tools to enable them to identify their process customers, gain an insightful understanding of their work processes, and to apply Lean concepts to those processes in order to fulfill the customers’ wants, needs, and values.
