PITs And Pedestrian Safety: To The Point
Powered industrial trucks (PITs), also known as forklifts, are heavy and powerful. Any contact between a PIT and a pedestrian can result in serious injury or death. This program is designed to highlight the dangers present when PITs and pedestrians work in shared spaces.
The hazards to pedestrians inside the workplace include distractions, blind spots, and traffic. Learning how to use these large machines safely and work near them is included in this training. This course describes the safe work practices necessary, such as situational awareness and visibility, to minimize those dangers and avoid injuries.
Pedestrians and the operators of PITs must both take the responsibility of preventing injuries. Use this course to ensure employees working with and around forklifts understand how to keep pedestrians safe.
This course is in the Video On Demand format, to read about Video On Demand features click here.
