Supply Chain: Downstream And Upstream Procurement
Procurement organizations are typically composed of two primary departments, Purchasing and Sourcing. As this course shows, while each department has specific, independent functions, they must also synchronize and communicate with one another.
After an introduction to the structure of a typical Procurement organization, the three topics in this course (Downstream Procurement, Upstream Procurement, and Value of Upstream and Downstream Procurement) ensure employees know the specific organizational functions upstream and downstream procurement serve. Employees are then positioned to fully understand how to distinguish the difference between downstream and upstream procurement and the part they play in the supply chain.
Use this course to help employees know the different stages in upstream and downstream procurement and how to synchronize both departments for more fluid operations throughout the organization.
