EQ, or Emotional Quotient, is simply another way of saying emotional intelligence. According to studies, 90% of top performers have a high EQ, and EQ is also responsible for 58% of one’s job performance. Leaders who display high EQ have increased leadership ability, increased team performance, improved decision making, and increased personal well-being. Essentially, the majority of your success is dependent upon your ability to effectively interact with others. Developing emotional intelligence has a marked beneficial impact on both personal and professional relationships, and you will gain further insight into how to improve your EQ through this training video.
EQ has four components: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. These components are highly interrelated and shape how you identify yours and others’ emotions, as well as how you should respond in certain emotional situations. This course explains the four components of EQ, and then goes on to demonstrate techniques to help develop EQ.
To be an effective leader, you must have a high EQ. After all, if you cannot keep your own emotions in check, or understand the emotions of others, you cannot lead your team.
