Anyone employed in the state of Illinois is protected against sexual harassment behavior. There are laws in place protecting individuals from sexual harassment and the which also protect them against retaliation for reporting. In addition, there exist mechanisms for reporting and investigating it expediently and appropriately. The Illinois Human Rights Act, in conjunction with the Workplace Transparency Act, forbids discrimination in Illinois with respect to employment, financial credit, public accommodations, housing and sexual harassment, as well as sexual harassment in education.
The course teaches managers and supervisors about the laws protecting victims of this offensive behavior. It identifies and differentiates between the two forms of sexual harassment, the zero-tolerance stance which employers are expected to adopt, the supervisor’s role in preventing the behavior, and proper procedures for reporting and preventing retaliation.
Use this course so your managers and supervisors are aware of the laws and expectations related to preventing sexual harassment, and procedures for dealing with it, should it occur.
