Employers who violate the Connecticut Discrimination Employment Practices Act in Connecticut, which makes sexual harassment illegal in the state, are always liable even if they are unaware their behaviors, intentions, or perceived intentions were unlawful. In this final course in this series, managers are re-introduced to Quid pro Quo and Hostile Environment harassment and then alerted to the various types of workplace harassment, highlighting workplace bullying, as defined by Connecticut law.
Upon competing this course, managers and supervisors will be well-versed in the following: harassment prevention, unacceptable behaviors in the workplace, the manager’s role in harassment prevention, reporting and responding, and workplace bullying. The section on workplace bullying teaches managers what is it and how to prevent it. The course concludes by explaining bystander intervention and how to intervene.
Use this course so all supervisors and managers know the full extent of Connecticut’s harassment laws and how to model and teach their employees appropriate behaviors to prevent and lawfully report workplace harassment when it occurs. Employees must complete all four parts of this series to comply with Connecticut state laws.
