As humans we have natural tendencies to be biased toward those like us and harbor biases against those different from us. However, it’s important those subjective and subtle tendencies are kept at bay at work, as bringing them inside can open the door to discrimination claims. This course helps managers and supervisors identify some of the most common biases and shows them how to avoid being the cause of a discrimination claim.
This lesson explains how asking certain questions can set the stage for discrimination. The course demonstrates a number of scenarios and explains whether the questions being posed are strictly job-related or could lead to a discrimination claim.
Use this course among your staff to help create a more inclusive employment climate and to foster a greater understanding of and awareness toward what is legally permissible to discuss at work.
