Overview

More than 100 workers are killed each year in forklift accidents. Even though forklifts can make many jobs easier, this does not mean they are easy to operate. Forklifts are unnaturally stable, thus operation takes both skill and responsibility. This online course teaches forklift operators how to stabilize an industrial counterbalance forklift by being aware of its stability triangle.

Safe driving practices are discussed, along with standard operation of the mast and forks. Tips for inspection and refueling are also taught in this course. After taking this training, your workers will know the special handling requirements for forklifts, how to stabilize forklifts under different operating conditions, and how to inspect the forklift before each use.

Please note, to be a certified forklift operator a driver must also have practical training. This includes hands-on instruction, live demonstrations, and practice exercises on the forklift, and cannot be done online. Evaluation of the operator's performance must be done in the workplace, and cannot be done online.
