Forklifts are among the seven classes of powered industrial trucks that make it easier to move materials in warehouses and other industrial settings. This training video explains the OSHA training and certification rules and when you may need to be re-trained or re-certified. It emphasizes the need to read the operating manual, make pre- and post-work inspections of the truck, proper refueling procedures, safe driving processes, load lifting and placing, limitations to the truck’s stability and handling capacity, and proper driving procedures.
Assign this course to new forklift drivers and veteran drivers. Both will find this training and safety tips useful.
Please note, to be a certified forklift operator a driver must also have practical training. This includes hands-on instruction, live demonstrations, and practice exercises on the forklift, and cannot be done online. Evaluation of the operator's performance must be done in the workplace, and cannot be done online.
