Stormwater: MS4s Stormwater Pollution Prevention: Basic Program
This online video training program shows how Municipal Storm Sewer System operators, or MS4s, are the leaders against stormwater pollution, and how Best Management Practices, or BMPs, can ensure they set a good example for the rest of the nation's workforce in preventing stormwater runoff pollution.
Basic techniques such as basic housekeeping, spill prevention, vehicle fueling, equipment maintenance and washing, and material and waste management are covered to ensure every MS4 position is shown how his or her duties can positively or negatively impact the environment. Practices as basic as proper material storage and what to do in the case of a hazardous spill are covered in the video to highlight the importance of every worker in maintaining safe and clean stormwater runoff.
The training program shows the legal repercussions for actions such as illicit dumping, how they can extend beyond the workers to municipalities as a whole and the greater ramifications of environmental harm and negative effects on wildlife and future generations.
