Crystalline Silica Employee Training
Every year there are hundreds of deaths and thousands of illnesses attributed to harmful exposures to silica dust. Crystalline silica is used in many industries, including construction, food manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing and water and sewage treatment. This training explains what Silica is composed of and why it is dangerous. Breathing in the fine particles can be debilitating and even deadly, but with the proper safety measures employees can reduce their risk for harmful exposures.
OSHA has required standards to regulate exposure associated with working around silica. This course demonstrates engineering controls, work practices control and respiratory protection. The course also explores Table 1 of the Construction Regulation and steps for responding to exposure incidents.
Helping workers understand how to reduce exposure, and take the correct steps to protect themselves is vital in protection against being injured by working in environments associated with silica respiratory risk. Use this course to prepare employees to prevent exposure to silica dust.
