Bloodborne Pathogens: The Unexpected Hazard
When an accident occurs at work and an employee is injured our first instinct is to help the person or clean up a related mess. This puts you at risk for exposure to bloodborne pathogens, and an exposure could lead to contracting diseases such as hepatitis or HIV. Knowing how to respond to injuries and exposure situations can prevent you and others from possible infection via bloodborne pathogens.
This training course explains what bloodborne pathogens are and how to properly prevent exposure. Learners see the correct and incorrect way of responding to an exposure situation. Topics covered include the exposure control plan, occupational exposure, universal precautions, barrier devices, and handling and disposal of potentially infectious materials.
This course enforces the dangers of exposure to blood and other bodily fluids in the workplace and encourages learners to take the proper steps to keep everyone safe at work.
