Safety 101 For Supervisors

Employees are encouraged to bring their concerns to their supervisor. As such, supervisors must be willing to accept the responsibility for helping maintain a safe working environment while ensuring their employees are properly trained. After taking this online training, supervisors will be able to explain how OSHA helps keep us safe at work, how to identify and control hazards, the importance of PPE, the different types of training available, and how to react if a workplace injury occurs.

First, this course discusses how OSHA affects the way in which companies conduct business and treat their employees in terms of safety. The training continues with a review of hazards and how to identify and control them. Viewers also learn about the different safety programs available to them such as fall protection, lockout/tagout, and emergency preparedness. Personal protective equipment, or PPE, is highlighted. Lastly, on-the-job training and injury reporting are covered.

No matter what industry you work in, safety is a top priority. All workers have the right to a safe workplace as well as a responsibility to ensure that right. Supervisors especially must promote safety as the top priority at their workplace. This online training program reviews the importance of workplace safety as well as the responsibilities supervisors have.
