Winter Walking: Staying On Your Feet
This video takes the viewer through different steps to ensure safety when it comes to walking on ice, snow, and also how to adjust to other winter conditions.
When walking on ice, this video demonstrates for the viewer how to walk carefully by adjusting the balance of your legs and arms. Wearing shoes that have good traction is key, but balance is equally important. A live-action video demonstration is shown to prove to the viewer shorter strides and arm length are key steps to walking safely in the winter. This training video also shows how walking on snow can be just as dangerous as walking on ice, and points out walking on snowy grass may often be safer than sidewalks.
Key points are checked at the end of this training with a short quiz. Use this training video if your job requires you to work outside in winter weather.
