The use of ladders, whether at work or at home, is fairly commonplace. However, every year thousands of people are injured falling from them. Ultimately, this is because the ladders are not being used safely. While there are many different kinds of ladders, such as step ladders, straight ladders, and extension ladders, every type of ladder requires you to be safe while using them. This training lesson teaches you safe practices for working on ladders.
Even before you step onto a ladder, you have to select the proper ladder for the task at hand. This is the first step toward being safe, as using the improper ladder can prove to be dangerous. Furthermore, all ladders must be inspected before use, and must be free of foreign materials, such as dirt, which reduces your grip on the rungs or steps. There are more safety procedures you need to be familiar with, and this training video explains them. Utilize the information presented here and understand what ladder to use for your task, as well as how to safely use it.
