Overview

Hazard Communication: GHS Safety Data Sheets

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has adopted the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of hazard communication and this video helps workers understand the GHS safety data sheets so they can work safely every day.

This video training explains the relationship between the six types of information required on container labels and the detailed GHS Safety Data Sheets (formerly called Material Safety Data Sheets). It discusses the 16 sections of information found on each SDS. Viewers are encouraged to read and understand labels and SDSs prior to working with the material so they can work safely. This video helps people who work with hazardous chemicals understand the vital importance of the information contained on the SDS for their personal well-being.
